小屋の建て替えのため、2023年4月より休業となっている安達太良連峰、鉄山の麓ある「くろがね小屋」
長年の間、安達太良山を登る人たちで賑わい、小屋泊以外の方々も休憩スポットとして利用してきました。
まだ小屋の建物はそのまま残っていますが、現在は避難小屋としての機能や宿泊だけでなく、日帰り温泉そしてトイレの使用も含めて全てのサービスを休止しています。
そこで安達太良自然センターでは、山歩きにいらっしゃる方々が、トイレが無いがために水分補給を控えて脱水症状を引き起こし、それが原因で救助が必要な遭難案件を減らすこと(＝登山者の安全衛生)。そして、トレイルを外れて樹林の中で用を足す人が多くなり、糞尿や塵紙などが散乱する状況を作らないこと(＝国立公園の自然保護・景観維持)。そして安達太良山や山麓にある幾つもの温泉地への観光集客を維持することの3つの観点から、まずは「携帯トイレ」用の目隠しブースの設置を行います。
携帯トイレブースの設置費用など含めて、現在は安達太良自然センターの自費より行われている状況ですが、小屋が完成するまで数年続く期間の運用資金を全て賄うことはできないことから、利用者からの協力金や支援などを得て運用していく必要があります。
そこで立ち上がったのが【“Mt.Adatara”シリーズ】です。
これらは売り上げ金額の10%以上を安達太良山や安達太良山麓の環境保全のために活用させて頂く安達太良自然センターのオリジナルグッズです。

Due to the reconstruction of the lodge, "Kurogane Hut" located at the foothills of Mt. Adatara in the Adatara Mountain Range has been closed since April 2023. Over the years, it has been bustling with climbers of Mt. Adatara and has served as a resting spot for visitors besides lodge guests.
Although the lodge building remains intact, all services, including its function as a refuge shelter, accommodations, day-use hot springs, and toilet facilities, have been suspended.
Therefore, the Adatara Nature Center aims to reduce dehydration-related incidents and the scattering of waste by installing privacy booths for portable toilets. Currently, the operation, including the installation costs of these booths, is funded by the Adatara Nature Center itself. However, since it's not feasible to cover all operational expenses until the completion of the lodge, which may take several years, support from users through cooperation fees and assistance is necessary.
This initiative gave rise to the "Mt. Adatara" series, where 10% or more of the sales proceeds are utilized for environmental conservation efforts on Mt. Adatara and its foothills, spearheaded by the Adatara Nature Center.
